Mrs. Long was born October 1, 1934 in Fulton County, GA to the late Joseph Benjamin Harmon and Alma Turner Harmon. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Prospect Church when she was able.
She devoted her life to that of a homemaker, and cared deeply for her family. She enjoyed visiting and talking with her neighbors. She liked to collect roosters, and she had many of them on display in her home.
She especially loved to travel. It never mattered where she went. She just enjoyed seeing new places and meeting people. She also liked to go out to eat for food and fellowship with family and friends.
Survivors include: one daughter, Robin Pendergraft (Steve) of Waco; one son, Morris Long (Leigh) of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Katie Long; twelve grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Harmon (Joyce) of Ephesus; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Marshall Long, and two sons: Marshall Long and Mark Long.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
