Mrs. Laymon was born July 19, 1930 in Marshall County, AL to the late Steve Moore and Bessie I. Leveritt Moore. She was a Christian by faith and had worked in the textile industry.
At home she loved to cook. She was particularly good at baking. Nothing gave her more joy than to prepare a home cooked meal and have everyone over for lunch or supper.
She held a special place in her heart for her family, and especially loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog, Sugar.
In her free time she enjoyed getting outside to work in the garden and sitting down with a good book.
Survivors include: two daughters: Linda Foster of Franklin and Deloris Bearden (David) of Five Points, AL; ten grandchildren: Eric Smith, Deanne Delgado, Sonya Cox (Richard), Michelle Burson (Richard), Cheyenne Smith, Patrick Smith, Casey Smith (Whitney), Bradley Bearden, Nicholas Bearden (Michelle), and Sara Bearden; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons: John Robert Smith, Jr. and Derek Smith; and two sisters: Jean Rosamond and Maxine Edwards.
