He was born May 15, 1942 to the late Harold Joseph “Harry” Latapie, Sr. and Frances Lopez Latapie in New Orleans. During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina he moved to the Bowdon area and made it his home. He never lost his love for the Crescent City and the State of Louisiana.
He joined Welcome United Methodist Church of Roopville and made many friends among the congregation.
He enjoyed the outdoors, was a hard worker, and liked to work in his yard.
He liked to cook, and would talk about cooking with anyone.
He loved people and was kind-hearted to everyone he met. He held a special place in his heart for his late wife, Judith Latapie, who preceded him in death on August 5, 2016. He missed her dearly each day he was without her.
In his latter days he was comforted by his caregiver, Monza Cole of Bowdon, who was like the daughter he never had. She loved him dearly and will miss him.
In addition to his caregiver, Monza Cole, he was survived by two sisters, one brother, and other relatives and friends.
