Margaret Lorene Montgomery Parmer
Mrs. Margaret Lorene Montgomery Parmer, age 85, of Roopville passed away January 10, 2020.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday January 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM from New Springs Methodist Church with the Revs. Samuel Arp and Milford Ballenger officiating. Her body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Parmer was born April 16, 1934 in Heard County to the late Pernal Harrison Montgomery, Sr. and Nellie Ludie Williamson Montgomery.
She worked as a school bus driver for many years. In her free time she was very active in her community. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and was involved with many church activities. She was also a member of the Red Hatters Club.
At home she enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She held a special place in her heart for her family, and loved to have everyone over for a home cooked meal.
Survivors include: two sons: David Parmer (Crystal) and Gary Parmer; a special niece, Margie Vessell; eight grandchildren: Renae Taylor (Troy), Stephanie Shorter, Trent Parmer (Deidre), Jessica Horn (Emmett), Eric Parmer (Erin), Michelle Crockett, Melissa Milam (Jeremy), and Neal Keeton; eleven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Delmas Parmer; a granddaughter, Mandy Franks; a sister, Elizabeth Rowe; and two brothers: Roy Montgomery and Junior Montgomery.
