Mr. Smith was born April 13, 1964 in Haralson County to the late Hardy Smith and Zelma Ruth Pitts Smith. He was a Christian by faith.
He worked as a carpenter for Bowman Flooring in Bremen. He loved his job and took great pride in his craftsmanship. Once he laid down hardwood flooring for the homes of several Atlanta Braves ball players. As a reward for his excellent service they sent him autographed baseballs.
He loved to go fishing and have a big fish fry at the end of the day. At home he enjoyed drawing and painting, playing the guitar, and watching TV with his grandchildren. Two of his favorite shows were “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Walker – Texas Ranger”.
Survivors include: his wife: Lisa Hollaway of Franklin; one daughter, Jessica Strickland (Dwight) of Franklin; one son, Derrick Smith of Roanoke; three grandchildren: Conner Smith, Tre Strickland, and Isaiah Hollaway; two sisters: Marie Brock (Leonard) and Mary Rooks (Ron) both of Villa Rica; one brother, David Smith (Vicky) of Temple; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry Smith and John Smith.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Stutts Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
