Mr. Romano was born March 13, 1945 in Plymouth, Massachusetts to the late Peter Joseph Romano and Mary Dorothy Reed Romano. He was a Baptist by faith, and had been attending Olive Branch Baptist Church.
He worked for Home Depot for over 20 years, where he served as the manager of the paint department. He also operated a hot dog stand at different locations in the local area. He became well known in the Franklin and LaGrange area for his delicious meals.
He loved people, and never met a stranger. He adored children, and held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling. Sometimes he would get lost while on his journeys, but he always found his way back home.
Survivors include: his wife, Kat Romano of Hogansville; two daughters: Cheryl Romano of Massachusetts and Chrissy Romano of Florida; four sons: Michael Romano of Massachusetts, Kevin Romano of Massachusetts, Pete Romano, Jr. of Florida, and Robert Patrick Smith (Caitlyn) of Florida; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Patrick Michael Romano of Columbus; and a number of other relatives and friends.
