Mrs. Bartlett was born July 15, 1931 in Heard County to the late Noah Lee Folds and Lizzie Daniel Folds.
She worked for Uniroyal in Hogansville for more than 30 years. After her retirement she devoted her life to being a Nanny for local children. Every child she watched over was the love of her life, and she considered them her grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of Centralhatchee Parkway Baptist Church. She played the organ and the piano and was a valued part of the music worship each Sunday.
She enjoyed having a garden each year, and was particularly proud of her canned green beans. When she had a bumper crop she liked to share her bounty with her friends and neighbors.
Her favorite trips were outings to the beach with Cutine, Harry and the family. She also loved to go to the Senior Center each day for food and fellowship with the many friends she made there.
At home she enjoyed watching Family Feud and caring for her cats, especially Fluffy, who wondered up the road from a neighbor’s house and took up residence.
Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Cutine and Harry Barber of Franklin; grandson and his wife, William and Michaela Barber of Newan; great-grandson, Dawson Barber; two sisters: Carolyn Johnson Flournoy (Hollis) and Ruby Garner Thompson (David); her other grandchildren for whom she was Nanny: Jena Steele, Jace Mock, Sara Wiggins, Trey Wiggins, and many others; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands: Dewey Shirey and C H “Bart” Bartlett; grandson, Brandon Barber; five sisters: Effie Cole, Myrtie Yearwood, Narcissa Cole, Fannie Wright, and Ruth Denney; and two brothers: C. G. Folds and Jerry Folds.
