Jimmy McCormick
Mr. Jimmy McCormick, age 71, of Roopville passed away Wednesday November 21, 2018.
Funeral services for Mr. McCormick will be conducted Friday November 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in the McCormick Family Cemetery.
The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mr. McCormick was born January 30, 1947 in Troup County to the late Monroe McCormick and Ira Mae Williams McCormick. He was a Christian by faith.
He built chicken houses for L. L. Rogers and Son and AgSouth. He loved to work and was accomplished at his craft. He was awarded top chicken house builder in 1996.
He was man who loved everyone. An avid conversationalist, he never met a stranger and would talk about anything to anyone. It was said that when he smiled, it lightened up everyone’s day, no matter how gloomy or sad.
During his free time, he enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He loved to joke around and have fun.
He held a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Kayla. She was number one to him and the light of his life. He loved his extended family of stepchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Survivors include: his wife, Oweta Hallmark-McCormick; daughter, Janice McCormick; granddaughter, Kayla McCormick; step-daughter, Sheenah Holloway (Robert); step-grandchildren: Daphne Pike, Sara Mae Pike, and Jarrett (Cheyenne) Pike; step-great-granddaughter, Ava Pike; two sisters: Janelle Shadinger and Linda Parrish (Daniel); two brothers: Howard McCormick (Nancy) and Winford McCormick (Frances); brother-in-law, Jerry Houston; a host of nieces and nephews who adored him; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and the mother of his children, Nancy McCormick; a daughter, Tammie Warren; a step-son, Neal Hallmark; a sister, Louise Houston; a brother, Lee McCormick, and a brother-in-law Otis Shadinger.
