Eris Hornsby Walston
Mrs. Eris Hornsby Walston, age 89, of Franklin passed away Tuesday May 15, 2018.
Funeral services for Mrs. Walston will be conducted Friday May 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Centralhatchee First Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Walston was born September 4, 1928 in Haralson County, GA to the late Joseph Thompson Hornsby and Essie Susie Gillespie Hornsby.
She was a member of Centralhatchee First Baptist Church and attended many years with her late husband, Mr. Huelett Walston, who served as a deacon. After his death she continued to attend every Sunday she was able and was an active member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
As one of seven children born to her parents, she understood the importance of family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She retired as a seamstress in the textile industry from Flat Rock Manufacturing and sewed pieces for her family on several occasions.
She loved the beauty of colors. She was especially proud of her flower garden she tended each year. She also enjoyed coloring beautiful pictures in books.
Survivors include: two daughters: Sylvia Phillips of Carrollton and Shari Duncan (Mike) of Roopville; one son, Ricky Walston (Opal) of Roopville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Kitchens of Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Willie Kate Hembree, Eunice Ridley and her twin sister, Era Walston; and two brothers: Coy Hornsby and Etsel Hornsby.
